Our Doves
Our birds are pure white homing pigeons which are part of the dove family, this is because it is inhumane to release true white ringneck or turtle doves as they have no homing ability or wild instincts and would sadly perish soon after a release. Within the white dove release world it is common practice to use homing pigeons and we advise you to steer clear of anyone claiming to release pure doves.
Our white doves (aka Rock Doves/pigeons) are not harmed in any way by releasing them at events, they have been trained and are capable of finding their way home from over 150km - it is a miracle of nature that enables the Rock Doves to do this.
Our domestically raised birds pose no threat to humans or animals, the birds are vaccinated and wormed for disease on a regular schedule. They love to bathe and keep themselves clean.
For their health and safety we limit the kilometers and time of release so that they can be home before sunset. We do not release them in thunderstorms, rain, fog, high winds, snow or near power lines.
Our birds are well looked after and we invite anyone to visit them in their home environment.
